Article: Arms of the People Should Be Taken Away
This is an article published in American Rifleman that looks at primary resources to show the reasoning and movement of British officials to attempt to disarm the colonists prior to and during the American Revolution. These movements would later lead to the Founding Fathers adding the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution. Obviously 2nd Amendment rights is a hot button issue but this article gives a unique look into period resources. Therefore it makes for good study for budding historians. http://banks7th.weebly.com/uploads/2/2/7/4/22749944/american_rifleman_-_the_arms_of_all_the_people_should_be_taken_away.pdf

The Hudson River School
We talked briefly about the Hudson River School, a group or artists who took the ideas of Romanticism and applied it to American Landscapes. I encourage you to view some of the fantastic artwork done by Thomas Cole and the other artists. https://www.google.com/search?q=hudson+river+school&biw=1280&bih=565&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwjGsMGns5_LAhVH0h4KHYoIAOcQ_AUIBigB
